New Features on Microsoft Teams Premium

Discussion and cooperation

Removing Chats

In New Features on Microsoft Teams, you can quickly arrange and delete chats you no longer need without harming other chatters.

Broader responses

You may communicate criticism more creatively with more than eight hundred Teams emoticons available for every situation. Communicate your feelings by emphasising the completion of the work or by expressing your happiness.

Use @mention to add members to a group conversation.

Add new chat participants by using @mention rather than add-dialogue. You can choose how much chat history to reveal to new users.

People to recommend when writing a new message.

Find the necessary stakeholders more quickly. Teams Chat leverages AI to propose teammates based on your recent collaboration to assist you in starting new conversations. This feature will be widely available by year’s end.

Get access to all group chat messages with the appropriate permissions

The resource-specific consent (RSC) permissions model designed for Teams Graph APIs now includes the scope of chat and channels in New Features on Microsoft Teams. To allow a bot to access user messages in common group discussions without being @mentioned, you may utilise RSC to approach team owners and request their approval.

Meetings with Sign Language View and always-on captions

Prioritise the sign language videos of up to two other participants in talks to remain visible when the Content is being shared. Additionally, captions can be set up to run continuously throughout meetings.

Devices – New Features on Microsoft Teams

New touch and collaboration experiences with Microsoft Teams Rooms on Android

On touch-enabled devices, to improve the meeting and collaboration experience, Microsoft Teams Rooms on Android Update 3 (App version: 1449/1.0.96.2022120503) has just been released. For additional information on these new features, which include touch awareness and support for 4K displays, bringing Microsoft Whiteboard into an ad hoc meeting, a revised share menu, and support for Whiteboard, see the section below.

Use Microsoft Whiteboard by approaching it.

Whiteboard sessions can be started at any time, outside planned meetings, with Microsoft Teams Rooms on Android displays by selecting the appropriate option on the display’s home screen. Admins can enable this capability using the “Allow initiate Whiteboard” setting on the device, enabling instant collaboration with only one tap to start a Microsoft Whiteboard session.

Invite Microsoft Whiteboard to a meeting on the go.

By selecting ” Start meeting ” on the local Whiteboard interface, you may effortlessly switch from a local collaboration experience to an online co-creation area. The “Start Meeting” button immediately kicks off an impromptu meeting and displays the previously running Whiteboard on the home screen on the meeting stage. Invite distant attendees to the discussion; everyone can contribute in real time. Remote participants can now be shown side by side with Microsoft Whiteboard utilising the Content + Gallery style, making collaboration more straightforward and effective. Previously, users had to choose between viewing the gallery or the shared board.

Resource accounts now support Microsoft Whiteboard and have a redesigned share menu.

The updated share menu makes it easier to exchange Content during meetings. All shareable material options, including Microsoft Whiteboard, may be found when you select “Share” from the meeting control bar. Resource accounts now support the meeting Whiteboard sharing functionality. To get instructions on controlling Whiteboard sharing in Teams, go here.

Touch sensitivity and support for 4K displays.

Now touch displays can control the room system. You can do so from the touch console and the touch display at the front of the room, making it simple to manage a Teams Room from the most convenient device. With the device’s “Enable touch screen controls” setting, administrators can activate this function. To further improve the meeting experience on large-screen devices, a 4K display is now supported.

Talking during meetings

Chats sent during a Teams meeting can now be seen on the front-of-room display when using Microsoft Teams Rooms on Android. Participants can participate in the conversation by viewing chat messages as chat bubbles above the active view.

Integration of a hardware occupancy sensor

A notification banner is shown on the Teams panel if the room is filled when available or unused when reserved, depending on the supported occupancy sensor hardware. When the sensor detects occupancy, the space will be automatically checked in if check-in is enabled.

Platform – New Features on Microsoft Teams

It is possible to save, print, and send approvals as PDFs.

A completed permission request can be saved as a PDF file and printed by the approval creator. Customers can quickly keep their proof of approval as a file or transfer it as a PDF to another system using this functionality.

In Teams, Adobe Acrobat simplifies the PDF experience.

Adobe has launched a new integration of Adobe Acrobat into Microsoft Teams, building on the popularity of collaborative apps in Teams. It is now possible to set Adobe Acrobat as the default PDF app in Teams. In addition to making it simpler to access PDFs saved in Microsoft SharePoint and OneDrive, it also simplifies sharing and reviewing PDFs.

Frontline personnel

Frontline staff using shared devices can use Teams, Edge, and Yammer on Android.

Thanks to Microsoft’s shared device mode, frontline personnel may authenticate by logging in and out of all the apps that have made this feature available. Edge and Yammer apps for Android are now in the public preview stage, in addition to Microsoft Teams and Managed Home Screen, which is also generally accessible.

Government

These features, currently accessible to Microsoft’s commercial clients in multi-tenant cloud settings, are now being rolled out to users of the US Government Community Cloud, US Government Community Cloud High, or the US Department of Défense. View meeting notes on Microsoft Teams for government clouds on Android and iOS.
