10 Tips About phishing attacks You Need To Know

Open the mail and have a look at the link embedded in that mail. You can place the mouse on it but if the given link looks peculiar then do not click on that. Copy that link and paste it in a new window to open that.

3.           Have a look at spellings

Brands do not make any spellings or grammar mistakes. Carefully go through every single alphabet and sentence. If you find anything suspicious then report it.

4.           Do not provide personal information

Authenticate companies and legitimate banks do not ask for personal credentials via email. So, do not endow the personal information to them.

5.         Beware of the subject of an e-mail

Manipulating users by invoking the words of fear and urgency is the old tactic used by cyber attackers. Especially lines which contains “account has been suspended” or “unauthorized login attempt.” Do not get stressed after seeing these words and think wisely before taking an action.

6.           Review the signature

Information about the signer should be correct enough. If there is any missed detail you find then you need to be sure it is a phish.

7.           Do not click on attachments

Attackers are smart enough to trap the users by sending malicious attachments that contain a virus or other harmful stuff. That malware can damage your PC or probably your information can be hacked by cybercriminals. It can steal your confidential information such as passwords or bank details.

8.           Beware of phishing tactics

Do not forget that the phishing and online scams techniques are being developed every time. Due to lack of information, you could inadvertently become a victim of one. Keep your keen gaze on the strategy of scammers and be safe.

Adopt any effective anti-phishing toolbar. Few popular browsers are customized with these kinds of toolbars. This layer can protect you better.
